We want you to Audition!

AYT’s upcoming production is How to be Asian: Tales of Growing up Asian in Australia, and we’re looking for people to audition!

Young people aged 12-25 with any level of acting experience and any ethnicity are encouraged to audition – particularly if you’re a young person with Eurasian, South Asian and/or Asian heritage.

Auditions will take place at Ashfield Civic Centre, after school hours between the 16-18 October. You need to prepare a 2min monologue (from a play, book or film) to perform for the audition.

*If you haven’t done an audition before, call or email and we’ll help prepare you.

Actors need to be available for rehearsals throughout Oct-Nov (after school hours) and for the performance held 8th-11th November.

Hidden Stories is lifting the lid on one of Australia’s most historical and culturally rich places – Rookwood Cemetery in Sydney.

Want to learn filmmaking skills in a unique place next school holidays?

Are you a High School student aged 14-18?

You’ll meet people with a connection to Rookwood and then make a film about their story.

Got your own story to tell about Rookwood? bring that too.

At Hidden Stories you will:

•Learn filmmaking skills & make a digital story

•Learn about Sydney’s most historical sties

•Have your film screened at the closing ceremony of Hidden Sculptural Walk on October 14.

The Migrant Project: Juncture… Rehearsals have begun!

While y’all were kicking back over the school holidays, AYT has been madly assembling the Migrant Project: Juncture cast of awesome and hurtling into rehearsal mode. All kinds of strange sounds and stories have been wafting out from the rehearsal space at Ashfield Civic Centre causing furtive glances, questioning stares and uneasy feet shuffling from the usual Centre patrons…. So here’s a sneak peak into the rehearsal room from our holiday intensive last week.
